Makes 9 wonderfully sized squares
5 tablespoons butter
One 10-oz bag marshmallows
7 cups cap’n crunch
1 cup freeze dried strawberries
Spray an 8x8” pan.
In a large, heatproof bowl, melt the butter and marshmallows together for 2 minutes or until the marshmallows puff and expand exponentially and the butter melts. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the mixture with a heat safe spatula to deflate the marshmallows and coat them evenly in melted butter until you have one brilliantly buttery, marshmallowy goo.
Add the cereal and strawberries to the bowl and coat all fully and quickly- as the marshmallow mixture cools, it gets harder to work with. Pour the bowl’s contents into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Use the butter paper wrapper to do this if it gets too stick (or spray your spatula with a little pan spray).
Let the mixture cool and set for 10 minutes before cutting into delightfully seasonal squares.
