Jammers

It is sadly and happily that time of year where greasy, sweaty, steamy and hot are all adjectives used to describe basically everything in life from my complexion to my armpits to the gorgeous temperature and humidity that abounds. I’m not mad at it, though. Because it’s summer. And these things are THE PERFECT excuse to chill out, cool down and get involved with a bright and bubbly refresher.

Forever in search of inspiration in my pantry, in the summer months, I stand in front of an open fridge, desperate to cool down (and also find inspiration). Inner dialogue “I’m hot. I’m sweaty. And greasy and steamy. And desperate. And why the heck is this fridge door so jam packed with jars. This is insane. How come no one finished the strawberry jam I made, and these orange preserves are so good, I swear I’m going to use them one day.” And then, WHAM! “I’m going to use them all! Like RIGHT NOW. I’ve got an idea!”

Also, I know I am not alone- EVERYONE’S fridge door is ready for some action. Pull those halfway used jams and jellies and preserves out and start swooshing, bubbling, icing and refreshing.

Jam

Any flavor jam works here. Feel free to sub in raspberry, peach, blackberry or any jammy combo you have on the fridge door.

Also very pro you making your own jam if you’ve got the time and the enthusiasm! Looking to rock some citrus instead? See Citrus Jam

On serious repeat in my house: Orange marmalade, Strawberry jam, blueberry jam, Bonne Maman raspberry preserves, Smuckers concord grape jam.

Sparkling/Seltzer Water

Honestly any and every kind work. From Topo Chico to SodaStream and anything in between. Mix it up and use your favorite flavored selter and pair it for a hyphenated jammer flavor story.
