Chocolate Peppermint Nutella Puppy Chow

Makes one Ziploc Bag’s worth (about 4 cups)

3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon oil

1/2 cup Nutella

1/2 teaspoon McCormick peppermint extract

4 cups Cocoa Puffs (or any cereal you like)

1 cup confectioner’s sugar

1/4 cup cocoa powder, optional

Pinch salt

1/4 cup crushed candy canes

In a large, microwave safe bowl, melt the white chocolate and oil in 30 second spurts, stirring intermittently until fully melted. Stir in nutella and extract and mix until smooth.

Stir in cereal and continue stirring to coat all entirely in the chocolate-nutella mixture.

Pour the contents of the large bowl into the Ziploc bag. Measure confectioner’s sugar, salt, cocoa powder, and candy canes in. Zip the top of the bag closed and toss around until all pieces are coated entirely.

Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes to set the chocolate shell, then eat! Store in the Ziploc bag in the fridge or at room temp for up to a month (it’s so tasty, no way it will last that long). Serve when the snacking mood strikes or whenever you have snacky guests over this holiday season!

Should we use white chocolate or semisweet? The ingredients and the instructions are different. Thank you!

I noticed that too. I’d say “pick your own adventure”. Both would pair well with peppermint.
