Caramelized Mozzarella Twists 



feat. Land O’Lakes Mozzarella Farmstyle Cut 

Makes 48 cookies


1 sheet puff pastry (store bought), defrosted

1/2 cup sugar


8 oz Land O’Lakes Mozzarella Cheese, Farmstyle Cut 


Heat oven to 350F and grease or line two baking sheets. Set to the side.


Unfurl the puff pastry on a clean, dry countertop and using your hands or a rolling pin, flatten the puff pastry sheet until an even rectangle. With clean hands, flick a little water over the surface of the dough, then with dry hands sprinkle half the sugar atop and press or roll the dough again to thin out the dough and ensure the layer of sugar adheres. Flip the dough over and repeat with some additional water and the remaining sugar. Sprinkle the mozzarella evenly over the surface of the dough.


Tightly roll the bottom of the cheesy pastry toward the middle, stopping at the center, then roll the top of the pastry to meet in the center. Wrap in plastic and freeze for 10 minutes. 


Remove the plastic wrap and trim one end, then slice ⅛” thin pieces. Arrange twists 1-inch apart from one another so they have space to puff and spread in the oven. 


Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Carefully remove the pan from the oven and using a heatsafe spatula, flip the twists. Transfer hot pan back to oven and bake at 350F for 5-6 minutes.


Cool completely before transferring, eating or storing.
